A weekend break in Three Rivers

Just minutes by train from London and with green belt covering more than 9,000 hectares, country parks, woodland wanders and canals winding through the countryside, believe us when we say a break in Three Rivers in south-west Hertfordshire offers that peace and quiet we’ve all been searching for lately.  But that’s not to say there isn’t plenty to keep you busy while you’re here, Three Rivers is the home of the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, not to mention a whole host of foodie favourites, country pubs, independent restaurants, theatre, galleries and cooking classes.

Remember when we mentioned those canals and country parks? They just so happen to be the perfect place to gather up your friends and family and get hands on with everything from chartering a canal boat, to getting to grips with watersports like sailing and SUP yoga!

Foodies, you’ll be spoiled for choice while you’re here with more independent restaurants and eateries than we could ever hope to cover in one weekend. Be sure to schedule in breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and drinks to make the most of your time here, followed by a cookery course, of course!

Families, we know we don’t need to tell you that little wizards and witches will delight in a visit to the home of the Boy Who Lived, so we’ll let you in on some other enchanting days out while you’re here! Skate parks, sailing school, mini golf, family theatre and bewitching accommodation inspired by Harry Potter, there’s more than enough to keep little ones busy.

While green-space seekers will find peace, quiet and miles of walking trails, with historic spaces and heritage thrown in along the way. What’s more those woodland walks and canal-side strolls are made even more idyllic with cosy pubs to retreat to for a fireside pint and delectable food and drink.
