When you think of the Tower of London, chances are you think of women: most famously the grim tales of imprisonment and execution of Tudor queens like Anne Boleyn or Lady Jane Grey. But beyond these well-known stories, women have had a complex relationship with this famous fortress throughout its 1,000-year history. As palace and prison, workplace or site of resistance, the Tower has played host to some fascinating historical figures. Join historian Lauren Johnson as she reveals the forgotten true stories of women at the Tower of London.
