Priscilla is coming to Harpenden

9th October - 12th October 2024
Award-winning Harpenden Musical Theatre Company are bringing the spectacular and vibrant show, "Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical," to the Eric Morecambe Centre this October. Based on the smash-hit 1994 movie, starring Hugo Weaving, Terence Stamp, and Guy Pearce, Priscilla tells the heartwarming, uplifting adventure of three friends, Tick, Bernadette and Adam, a glamorous Sydney-based performing trio who agree to take their show to the middle of the Australian outback. They hop aboard a battered old bus (nicknamed Priscilla) searching for love and friendship and end up finding more than they ever imagined. Director, Jason Allen Lane said: "Priscilla is not just a musical; it's a celebration of life, love, and the courage to be your true self. It's a story that resonates with everyone, reminding us of the importance of friendship and acceptance. We are beyond excited to bring this glittering, joyous production to Harpenden." With a dazzling array of outrageous costumes, energetic dance numbers, and a hit parade of dance floor favourites including “It’s Raining Men,” “I Will Survive,” “Hot Stuff,” “Boogie Wonderland,” “Go West,” “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” and “I Love The Nightlife,” this wildly fresh and funny musical is a journey to the heart of FABULOUS! Priscilla Queen of the Desert is a flamboyant, funny, disco-fuelled musical that celebrates diversity, self-expression, love and resilience, and will get you up on your feet.
