The Celtic Roots of Halloween – Samhain Celebrations 2026!

16th October - 31st October 2026
Celebrate Samhain, the start of the Celtic New Year, with a magical day out this October Half Term in a reconstructed Iron Age settlement. Venture into the haunted forest if you dare! Explore the Stone Age cave. Fill your day with creative activities such as building your own woodland shelter, decorating a chalk art auroch and making pumpkin clay crafts. Enjoy a warming lunch prepared by our resident chefs in The Woodland Bistro, or tuck into a scary snack and hot chocolate in a roundhouse. End your day with a story in the Chieftain Roundhouse and a fire procession around the woods. The six-day celebration culminates on Saturday 31 October, when you can burn your worries in the Samhain bonfire and make a wish for the year to come. Limited spaces.
