Food & Drink

Crossover Blendery focus on producing 100% spontaneously fermented beers.  In short a spontaneously fermented beer is one which has had no yeast or bacteria added to it in the process of its creation. It is a totally natural product which utilises native microbes for fermentation. For them it makes the most exciting, complex and thought provoking amongst all the beer styles out there. The various golden ale recipes are fermented and matured in ex Bordeaux and Burgundy French oak red wine barrels for up to 4yrs.

From the outset Charlie and George wanted their beers to showcase the best of British. So once the beer is matured and deemed ready for blending, they will further add whole fruit, grapes, hops and herbs. We grow some incredible produce in this country which is often forgotten. The priority is to build relationships with growers/farmers and promote their amazing produce. So far, they’ve added morello cherries, raspberries, blackberries, five varieties of plums, bullaces, wine grapes, green walnuts and many more exciting additions.

At the end of April, they opened a taproom up to the public for the first time. Charlie and George want to create a place for locals to come and enjoy a drink amongst the barrels in the heart of the countryside. For opening times please see the website.”
