Royston Cave is a man-made, bell shaped chamber hidden beneath Melbourn Street in Royston.

The Cave is decorated throughout with medieval style carvings. Some are easily recognised such as those depicting the Crucifixion and St Christopher but others still defy positive identification.

The Cave is unique in Europe and remains largely unexplained. There are a number of intriguing theories such as it being used by the Templars or the Freemasons but its true origin and purpose remain an enigma to this day.
