Every year we excitedly await the news on which sensational Hertfordshire locations will be getting a movie makeover. From Down Hall and Knebworth House to the Watford Big Screen, we love spilling the popcorn on the top spots to take in those Hollywood classics in Hertfordshire.

Yes, you love our insider knowledge and local guides, and we have to admit that our free days out is one of our best. Packed with family-friendly days out like the iconic Natural History Museum Tring, museums and beautiful parks like Cassiobury Park, there are plenty of plans here that won’t cost the earth.

Love is in the air, but then again it looks like it has been for the last ten years in Hertfordshire! From Slam Dunk Festival to DogFest and Tewinbury Farm’s fantastic family-friendly Farm Yard in the Field, it’s time to don the wellies and start marking this year’s festival calendar.

We don’t blame you for loving this feature as it happens to be our go to as soon as the autumn leaves start appearing and the fireside starts beckoning. You guys love a Christmas market, and with so many cute villages, cobbled streets and festive towns and cities like St Albans, Tring and Hitchin, Hertfordshire really sparkles at this time of year. We’ve even had the likes of markets at the fairytale Knebworth House and Gardens to add a touch of magic to the season. We know, we know, it’s nowhere near Christmas yet, but in the last ten years our Christmas pages have been more popular than Santa himself.
