School holidays, it’s nothing to fear! We know keeping the little ones entertained can be quite the challenge, but with so much to do here in Hertfordshire, you won’t need to stress! From active days out to glamping breaks, it’s time to get the kiddies out the house, explore the outdoors and enjoy the sunshine. Let’s take a look at what’s in store for the summer when the term ends…

Paradise Wildlife Park

Reptile Weekend

Well, we’ve got just the thing for little ones who love animals, especially reptiles! Paradise Wildlife Park are hosting their Reptile Weekend this July to celebrate all the amazing reptiles at the Park and raise awareness and vital funds for the Asian Turtle Programme. This is certainly a weekend your kiddies won’t want to miss with reptile themed merchandise, treats and much more.

22nd & 23rd July

Tiger Weekend

The following week, another amazing weekend is set to arrive at the Park – Tiger Weekend! Join the zookeepers for a wonderful weekend celebrating their fascinating tigers with a tiger raffle, themed merchandise, treats and more to raise awareness and funds for the Wild Cats Conservation Alliance.

29th & 30th July

What’s more, both weekends will be part of your general admission ticket!

Activities at The Grove

Have you got an adventurous little one or someone who loves all things sports? Then you’ll be pleased to find out that The Grove is bringing all the fun this summer with their list of things to do for the little ones. And we can tell you this, you won’t have any trouble getting them to come along when they find out what’s in store. From getting stuck into nature with Mud & Guts’ Bush Craft Camps and discovering the magical woodland with their Forest Camps to Sacracens Rugby Skills Staycation, Football Escapes and Junior Golf Camp!

Glamping Break with Home Farm Glamping

If you’re looking to take the kiddies for a little getaway, then we’ve got just the thing. Home Farm Glamping is the home of 12 impressive yurts and bell tents, which creates a beautiful setting amongst the 150 acres of countryside – a place the little ones need to experience! With each tent having their own outdoor seating area and barbecue, so you can enjoy the dreamy setting and peacefulness of the countryside and of course have some fun playing with the children!

The Wizard Of Oz - Garden Theatre at Knebworth House

It wouldn’t be a summer well spent without a good old family theatre production. So, head to Knebworth House this August for the spectacular Immersion Theatre production of The Wizard of Oz. Guaranteed to have your little ones rolling as they join Dorothy and her friends on their quest to the Emerald City in search of the mighty and mysterious Wizard of Oz. Bring your picnics, chairs and blankets and get ready to sing, shout and laugh!

August 24th

Twelfth Night at Hatfield House

We’ve got another outdoor theatre performance by Immersion Theatre, this time taking to the amazing Hatfield House to showcase their adaptation of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. With a whirlwind of comedy and love triangles as well as identical twins, live music, audience participation, and yellow stockings, it’s sure to be an unmissable production to bring the kids along to this summer… And, kids under 3 go free!

August 3rd

What's on in Stevenage?

Looking for things to do in Stevenage this summer holidays? Back by popular demand, the Outdoor Cinema is returning to Stevenage Town Square this summer with some children's classic, chosen by members of the public, so your little ones will be sure to love them! Disney favourites like Encanto and The Lion King (don’t worry parents you can sing along too!) and Free Willy all set to press play on Saturday 29 July 10:00am - 7:00pm and guess what, it’s FREE. Plus free face painting, character appearances, sweet stall, ice cream van, and more! Sounds like a day worth marking in the diaries.
