Kick things off with the Big Screen, showing everything from live sports to blockbuster films from 4–10 August in the town centre and 11–17 August in Knutsford,  perfect for chilled-out evenings under the stars. Just up the road, Watford Big Beach transforms The Parade into a pop-up seaside escape from 15–31 August, complete with real sand, deckchairs and all the holiday vibes (minus the travel). Throughout the month, Free Parks Festival takes over Watford’s green spaces on 5, 12 and 19 August, with live music, crafts, family entertainment and street food stalls popping up across town. Then on 30 August, don’t miss the colour, joy and unity of Herts Pride, as Watford comes alive with a parade, live performances, food vendors and community celebration. From building safe corridors for animals to creating cosy spaces for mums and babies, it’s a super fun way for children to learn about how we can all protect the environment. The Smurfs at Hertfordshire Zoo

Open Air Cinema at Down Hall Hotel
